2020 Season Update

Dear NJFL Franchise Members and Families,

Our mission is to provide an environment that builds outstanding character and promotes participant safety and the highest levels of good sportsmanship for our youth We insist on doing this in way that is safe for our players, coaches, and families.

The current pandemic makes this almost impossible however, the NJFL has adopted a plan for a 2020 season provided counties where our franchises reside are in Phase 4 of the state’s health and safety guidelines.

Here are the details:

  • The season start date is delayed until August 31 pending King and Snohomish counties have entered into Phase 4.
  • The 2020 Jamboree is cancelled.
  • Weigh-ins will be conducted by the franchises.
  • Practices are limited to 3 days per week
  • We will have a 7-game season starting September 26.
  • 2020 Playoffs and championships are cancelled.

We want all of you to know that some of these decisions were not easy to make but we believe they are necessary to have path to having a return to youth football this year. We are trying to be proactive yet flexible for a season while allowing for our families the ability to plan.  We will remain prudent about the safety of our children.

Please know that as we work towards fall football, we are continuing to monitor, meet, and discuss the situation. We will update our membership of any changes regarding our NJFL 2020 Season.
